Changes to the public group membership cannot be saved

The group owner was unable to make changes to the distribution group using Outlook 2010 address book and was getting –

 

Changes to the public group membership cannot be saved,You do not have sufficient permission to perform this operation on this object

Administrator however can make changes in EMC to the group.

Checked for the following –

1. The group is a Universal security group

2.The user under group’s security property ADUC has write member rights

3.The user is included in ‘Managed By’ tab in ADUC group’s property and ‘Manager can update membership list’ is checked.

4.Group owner has been assigned policy in ‘Role assignment policy’with ‘My Distribution Group’ option checked

I asked the user facing the issue to use an alternate configured outlook profile/another machine and it worked.

The user had an email account configured for another domain which caused this issue.
